DAKSH is inviting applications from eligible candidates for Student Research Associate Interns to join their office in Bangalore.
About the Organization
DAKSH is a Bangalore-based nonprofit organization working on judicial reforms and access to justice. They have convened the Judicial Data Collaborative (JDC) which brings together researchers, students, practitioners, and industry to improve the accessibility, quality, and reliability of judicial data in India.
About the Opportunity
One of the projects under the JDC is the Definitions project, their attempt to create an interactive, research-oriented wiki. This initiative aims to connect official literature, databases, and research on terms that affect the study of the justice system in India.
They are calling for student researchers to assist them with this project.
Roles & Responsibilities
Student researchers will have the opportunity to research and contribute to the development of the wiki under the guidance of members of the collaborative. You will work alongside a team of dedicated individuals who share their passion for unpacking judicial data. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain valuable experience in legal research, writing, and collaboration.
Eligibility Criteria
They are looking for student researchers who:
- are in their third year or senior (five-year law students) or second year or senior (three-year law students)
- have an interest in digital public projects
- Have reasonable English writing skills
- can spare 5 hours a week for 2 months
