One of the socially respectable, impactful and well-paid job is to become a civil judge. To get into the Judicial Services aspirants are required to crack an exam conducted by them in the country. The eligibility is it is only for the graduate who have completed Bachelors of Law for a recognized university, then only they can apply to this exam. It’s recommendable to start it’s preparation while pursuing graduation and also to research about what are the best coaching considering their staff and teachers as other factors. There are different states who conduct judicial services exam state-wise in total they are 24 and they conduct these exams separately and when you’ll get qualified you will get the post of Civil Judge-3.

- Decide the state:- As discussed above, every state conduct it’s own Judicial services exam which have many differences in their syllabus and some other aspect. So decide which state examination you want to qualify analyzing their syllabus also it’s important to know about their culture and language as this will be a compulsory paper.
- Work on the base:- What happens is when we think that there it certain examination which can lead us to high-post we only learn hard and complex things and have no basic education which is equally important to develop as this helps us in having a good analytical and connecting the dots abilities. So, it’s advisable to start this preparation slowly keeping the things you read everyday in mind. Do not mug up things.
- Proper Scheduling:- It’s important to make a proper time management system for yourself. Take ideas from people but do not copy them. According to your own potential do your proper scheduling of the day. And first read and understand the syllabus thoroughly and understand the sole purpose of the examination. What are your weak subjects and what are your strong subjects is important to have a note of and don’t avoid the weak subjects and topics, give them time and make your strengths stronger.
- Read newspaper:- It is equally important to read 2-3 hours everyday and staying updated which GK, current affairs and also newspapers will help you in answer writing too and framing words and sentences better. Staying updated with the latest news especially related to judiciary is equally important. GS hold a good weightage in every government examinations.
- Understand Important Acts:- It is important to learn and understand thoroughly the acts. Revise them periodically and make notes. Also read important case studies judgements. The more you revise, the longer you will remember them.
- Be committed:- This will not be easy but a worth try. Be mentally committed and try enjoying the learning process. Also take an interest towards the studying part. But this does not means to study every time and ignoring your health, mental health and family too, many start to do this. What is important is to be productive everyday and making a good strategy so that you can clear this examination. Don’t do this because your parents are forcing you as it will make the journey more complicated.
- Practice Answer writing: – It’s important to always practice answer writing skills minding the structure of how to write in a subjective exam in an organized manner. Attempting the previous year question papers, sample questions and many other questions. This will improve your presentation skills and also writing skills. As most of the people face this difficulty is writing in an examination because they can’t frame answers. Practice makes you perfect, remember. Study and analyze first the answer that how to write them in a way that it looks worthy reading then attempt previous years exams and if you are studying in a coaching, ask your coaches to read them and telling you, your mistakes.
- Go through all the concepts repeatedly:- according to the syllabus, go through the topics on repeat and understand them deeply about the law, develop an understanding and revise them again and again and at the same time practice answers taking a time limit for yourself as it happens in an exam. The more you practice writing the more you will get better at it and the result within six months will surprise you like a better way of writing, framing sentences and the vocabulary will get improved.
- Practice Judgement writing:- It varies on the syllabus and it’s important to have a knowledge about how to write judgements as it forms an important component while preparing and even when in case you will get selected in the examination.
- Good resources: – Keep good online and offline materials for yourself and have good resources. Take good books covering all aspects of you’re the syllabus. It’s better to keep your resources less rather than many and no focusing on any. Never give quantity for emphasis than quality. Study from coaching materials who really provide you good content.
- Good discussions: – Have a group of equally enthusiastic and curious people who have a same drive like you and discuss with them all what you study. Discussion helps us in knowing about different people opinions and also knowing about how to respond to people while having a healthy discussion which will surely help you in your interview and answer writing. Discuss about the recent verdicts, legal acts and laws and most importantly the current affair. This will also improve your critical thinking abilities and knowledge as there might be some topics in which you have less understanding on.
